Jesse James Hollywood is a convicted American drug dealer and kidnapper who gained notoriety for his involvement in the kidnapping and murder of Nicholas Markowitz in 2000. Hollywood was born on January 28, 1980 in Los Angeles, California.
The kidnapping of Markowitz was a result of a drug deal gone wrong between Hollywood and Markowitz's older brother. Hollywood ordered members of his gang to kidnap Markowitz as a way to get back at his brother for a debt he owed.
Markowitz was held captive for several days before being murdered on August 9, 2000. Hollywood fled to Colorado where he was eventually apprehended by authorities in 2005.
In 2009, Jesse James Hollywood was convicted of the kidnapping and murder of Nicholas Markowitz and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
